Murat UncuogluMurat Uncuoglu

Murat Uncuoglu's career began at Hadigari, where his sets caught the attention of the owner of Pasha Istanbul, who brought him in and let him reshape the club's sound. The pull of the scene soon took him to London: by day he studied sound engineering and production at Media Productions, by night he learned from the city's clubs. There he worked as a studio engineer for Chicago house pioneers Marshall Jefferson and Bam Bam, and started playing parties and clubs of his own.

Back in Istanbul he became resident at Club 2019, the city's first underground club, and co-founded Radio 2019, Turkey's first electronic music station, laying early groundwork for Istanbul's place on the international club map.

Today he runs Isolate, a label and events company, with Alican. His productions have appeared on Innervisions, Afterlife, Selador, Get Physical and Multinotes. Beyond the booth, he is a partner in MEK1 Sound (opens in a new tab), the official Funktion-One distributor for Turkey.
